Tasks and duties of BASE
BASE is responsible for reviewing and monitoring the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management. We see ourselves as a regulatory and also a technical authority that performs both supervisory and licensing functions.
Our focus areas
The Office is the regulatory and supervisory authority of the Federal Government in the field of final disposal and the licensing authority for the handling and transport of nuclear fuels.
