Who we are
BASE commenced its work in 2016. The Office is the regulatory and supervisory authority of the Federal Government in the field of final disposal and the licensing authority for the handling and transport of nuclear fuels.
We provide support and advice to the Federal Ministry for the Environment on issues of nuclear waste management and safety. Additionally, we conduct and coordinate research in our subject areas.
