BASE Incident Reporting Centre
The Incident Reporting Centre of BASE centrally records all reportable events occurring in nuclear facilities of the Federal Republic of Germany. The competent supervisory authorities of the Länder must forward such events to the Incident Reporting Centre. The Centre records and documents the reports, and evaluates them for the BMUV.
The Incident Reporting Centre also supports the BMUV in informing the public about reportable events at regular intervals by publishing information on reportable events at nuclear facilities on the internet. In addition to the current monthly reports, annual reports on reportable events are also made available, differentiated according to:
- Nuclear power plants and research reactors as well as
- nuclear fuel supply and disposal facilities.
What are reportable events?
Reportable events are accidents, incidents or other events significant for nuclear safety that occur in nuclear facilities of the Federal Republic of Germany. The plant operators must report such events to the competent supervisory authority of the respective Federal State. Nuclear Safety Officer and Reporting Ordinance (AtSMV).
