Site selection procedure The search for a disposal site – involving young people

The disposal of high-level radioactive waste in Germany is a task that involves every facet of society and every generation. The Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BfE), Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE) mbH, (the Federal Company for Radioactive Waste Disposal) and the National Citizens’ Oversight Committee (NBG), which are the major players in the site selection procedure, all agree that it is particularly important to involve young people in the search for a disposal site. The target group of young people and young adults involves persons aged between 14 and 30.
