With the entry into force of the "Act on the Organisational Restructuring in the Field of Nuclear Waste Management" on 30 July 2016, the federal tasks of supervision and licensing in the fields of

• repository site selection,
• nuclear safety,
• interim storage and
• repository surveillance

were transferred from the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) to the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BfE) foundet in 2014.

Many of these topics, to which the BfS has positioned itself in the past, are still relevant today for the work of the BfE and are made available in the archive. It is divided as follows:
